SAY IT ISN'T SO HOW SHE EASILY COME, HOW SHE EASY GO
Yesterday afternoon, Wedding Crashers: as much as I love Owen Wilson, I think Vince Vaughn stole my heart this time. He was an unapologetic smartass, and that? Is awesome. And Will Ferrell's sudden appearance at the end only made things even better.
My mp3 player died, so until I get paid in another two weeks, I'll be listening to the radio in the car. Not even my cd player, because it's the most ghetto bitch in the world, and skips every. two. seconds. I am INTENSELY distressed at this development, because Jason bought me my Rio for Christmas, and it hasn't even worked for one goddamn YEAR before fucking up. I can't even upgrade it with newer drivers, it keeps timing out. I've lost all the songs on there, which are - incidentally - all the songs I have, period. After my computer was restored some weeks ago, I didn't bother transferring the mp3s back onto the harddrive because I rarely listen whilst on my computer. Tragedy. The only good thing I can see about this is that I'll be able to buy a player with more storage, so I won't have to erase songs when I add new ones. I might just buy an iPod instead, in fact; those of you that have them, are they worth the money?
I finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Tuesday on my break at work; the book got off to a slow start, and it never quite pulled itself together completely, but the end? My jaw dropped. I expected it in part, but I didn't expect the character who made it happen. J.K. Rowling completely broke my heart.
Postscript: download the new Jason Mraz album here, it's so so so good. I love "Please Don't Tell Her" and "Geek in the Pink" most, but he's just all-around amazing with his lyrics and the way he manages to create a style that's a mixture of several music genres. It's definitely worth listening to.

Still yet to read HBP, but kind of scared to since everyone says the ending is devastating.
I also got him a car adaptor for the iPod that plugs into his Jeep's cigarette lighter and charges his iPod while he listens to it (to play the music, the adaptor "takes over" an unused radio station and broadcasts the music over the radio waves; it works really well). I haven't sprung for that myself, yet; my car came with a CD player and a cassette deck (surprising for a 2003, I thought), and I just use a cassette adaptor like people used to do with their portable CD players. The disadvantage to this? It doesn't charge the iPod. The advantage? It's about a fifth of the price of the adaptors that charge the iPod. =)
In fact, I love my iPod so much and was so impressed with it that, when it came time to get a new laptop, I went Mac and I'm not going back. ;)
If you're interested in doing some research on the different types of iPods and their accessories, iLounge is a great place to start.
But either way, invest in an iPod + iTunes.
iPod and iTunes is the simplest, most easiest way to manage your music.
Is coast an issue? If you are applicable for an educational discount, do it.
You could save a lot of money if you take that route.
Of course, the educational discount would be through Apple.
PS: I have a third generation iPod and I love it.
The Old School PowerBook, not a clamshell.
However, even though it's Old School, I replaced it three times.
Good or bad, but it was covered through Apple Care.
But, the reviewers at ET are idiots anyway. I only get riled up when I read them.
